Ireland Park, Irish Famine memorial (Bathurst Quay)

Outdoor

About

A moving waterfront memorial at the foot of Bathurst Street honouring the Irish Famine migrants who landed in Toronto in 1847, when about 38,500 arrived in a city of 20,000. Five bronze figures by sculptor Rowan Gillespie stand beside Kilkenny limestone columns, next to the old Canada Malting silos. Opened in 2007, it is an outdoor public park you can visit any time. Free.
