Freeyo lists only things that are genuinely free. Every post is reviewed before it goes live.
Posting rules
- It must be free for everyone you invite. No entry fee, no ticket, no required purchase, no "free with purchase". A suggested donation is fine if it is truly optional.
- If only some people get in free, say exactly who. For example: "Free for kids 12 and under" or "Free with a Montreal library card".
- Say clearly what costs extra. Parking, rentals, food or materials can cost money, but say so in your post.
- Give real details. A clear name, the address, the date and time (or opening hours for a place), and a link or phone number where people can check.
- Keep it current. Edit or remove your post if the date changes or the event is cancelled.
- One post per event or place, even with several dates. Free classes all week? A festival over three days? Post it once: pick the first day in Event Date, then list every day and time in Event Time (for example: Mon Nov 9, 12:00 PM; Tue Nov 10, 1:00 PM; Fri Nov 13, 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM). We'll set it up so each day shows on its own date in the calendar and in "Today". No duplicates, and no reposting the same thing to stay on top.
- Use your own photos, or photos you have permission to use. No photos copied from other websites without permission, and no AI images pretending to show a real place. No photo? No problem! We'll add a simple, fun illustration of what you're doing. We'll do our best to make it look great.
- Be respectful. No hateful, sexual or illegal content, no political campaigning, and no selling.
- First class free? Bring it on! A free first class counts as free. Try karate, yoga or salsa for nothing. You don't have to come back for a second one, but you'll meet people and learn something new. It's free, yo! A card is OK as a guarantee (for example, a fee only if you don't show up), as long as your post says so. But nothing can be charged automatically afterwards: no automatic sign up for more classes, no subscription that starts by itself. Free means free, if you want it to stay free. Contests that need a purchase are not approved.
We may edit a post for clarity, or decline or remove any post that does not follow these rules.
Terms of use (short version)
Your posts. You are responsible for what you post. By posting, you confirm the information is accurate and that you have the right to share any photos or text you upload. You keep ownership of your content, and you allow Freeyo to show it on the website, app and newsletter, and in posts promoting it.
Accuracy. Freeyo checks posts, but events change. Visitors should confirm details with the organiser before going. Freeyo is not responsible for events, places or organisers listed on the site.
Accounts. Keep your login private. We may suspend accounts that break the posting rules.
Paid options. Posting is free. Optional paid features, such as featured listings, may be offered and are never required.
Privacy. We use your email only to manage your account and your posts, and to send you updates you sign up for. We do not sell your information.
