Brewer Park, beside the Rideau River and Carleton University, has a lit and supervised skating oval as well as a boarded hockey rink, listed in the City of Ottawa's outdoor rink data. It is a lovely place for a family skate on a winter evening. City outdoor rinks are free to use, and the season usually runs from mid or late December to mid February, depending on the weather.
